It had been a while since my last trip to Mytton Fold, so it was lovely to return for Hannah and Alex’s special day. Arriving back at this beautiful Ribble Valley wedding venue always feels like a treat, and it reminded me why Mytton Fold is such a popular choice for couples. I was also joined by Martyn Hathaway Photography as my second shooter for the day, which made the start of the morning even smoother.
Once I arrived, I headed straight to the bridal suite to capture the bridal party getting ready, while Martyn photographed the venue details before meeting up with Alex and his groomsmen. Hannah was getting ready in Mytton Fold’s makeup room, which is genuinely one of my favourite spaces to work in. The bright, natural light makes it ideal for wedding morning photography. Hannah, her mum and her bridesmaids enjoyed a relaxed morning while Makeup by Mia and Georgia Kedie Hair created their stunning looks.
Atmosphere Venue Dressing had prepared the ceremony room, and it looked absolutely beautiful. Soon it was time for the ceremony to begin. The bridesmaids made their entrance with the groomsmen before Hannah made her grand entrance. She looked incredible, and throughout the ceremony it was clear just how in love Hannah and Alex were as they barely took their eyes off each other.
The weather was a little unpredictable, which is fairly normal for a wedding in the Ribble Valley, but we worked around the showers perfectly. We managed to capture the confetti photos, group shots and some lovely couple portraits in between the rain. We were even treated to a rainbow, which appeared at the perfect moment and added something really special to a few of their portraits. The fallen autumn leaves around Mytton Fold brought beautiful colour and texture to the images, giving the photos that warm autumn wedding feel. Couple portraits are always one of my favourite parts of the day, and Hannah and Alex were so natural together.
One of the things I love most about wedding photography is that every celebration is unique. Hannah and Alex included traditional Chinese dragon dancers as part of their day, which was a first for me and such an exciting moment to capture. The vibrant red colours and movement brought so much energy and made for unforgettable photographs.
